We believe everybody deserves to ride a bike! This program gives you the opportunity to give one or more bicycles to families that may not necessarily have the resources to purchase their own.

How it Works

Participants enter the “Tune Workshop” where for the next few hours they become bike mechanics working towards the final goal of building a brand new kids bicycle per team.

Before teams are allowed to touch a toolbox, they need to prove to the workshop supervisor that they have the skills necessary to successfully build a kids bike. This is done through completing a range of team building activities that are tailored to the specific needs of the organisation.

Once participants have completed their “apprenticeship” they will be all hands on deck to build a kids bike for donation to a charitable organisation. This can be a Tune 4 Change charity partner, or one of your choosing.

The Difference

The difference between the Tune 4 Change team building program and others, comes from Tune 4 Change working directly with our charity partners to make sure that what they really need is what they get from the program. If there are families who need new bikes, they are gifted to them. If there is a family who are being relocated and need an ebike, or a custom built accessibility trike for a person with a disability, we use the bikes that are built to facilitate this.

That’s not where the service stops, Tune 4 Change will make sure that when bikes are donated, they are well maintained by providing education programs to up-skill the families and institutions that receive the bikes to keep them in perfect working order.

We can do this through our wealth of knowledge and industry insight, gained through our roots in the bicycle industry for the past 20+ years.

T4C CYCLESKOOL

Our school program focuses on getting kids away from the screens, and back into active transport through this program that teaches kids of all ages both basic mechanical skills and up-skills their riding ability.

Mechanical Education

We give kids a hands-on demonstration on how to keep a bicycle well-maintained, and most importantly safe!

What will I learn?

• Pre-ride safety inspection

• How to change a Tube

• Identify brake wear

Rider Education

Time to get in the saddle and do some riding. The Tune 4 Change team will set up numerous challenges for the students to attempt whilst riding the bicycle that they have just performed a service on. The challenges are designed to make The kids more confident and competent riders. From safe braking to agility & cornering, and everything in between.

Additional Activities

So it doesn’t just feel like another lesson, we include 1-2 fun and engaging break-out activities for the kids to enjoy. We will work closely with you to choose an appropriate activity for the year group that we are working with and make sure that we cover any additional objectives you want to be covered during the program. I.e. Communication, teamwork, etc
